Projects comming from Godot 4.x are almost compatible with Godot 4.6, because this is not a major version (as Godot 3.x to Godot 4.0). For most games and apps made with 4.5 it should be relatively safe to migrate to 4.6, but check the Migration Guide from Godot 4.5 to Godot 4.6 for some breaking changes and the Official Documentation for more info.
Following the release of Godot 4, Godot 3 is maintained as a Long Term Support (LTS) version for a limited period. Support is restricted to critical fixes and occasional backports, while all primary development efforts are now focused on Godot 4.
The Godot Engine is a free and open-source, cross-platform game engine that provides a complete and unified set of tools for creating both 2D and 3D games. It features an intuitive editor, a flexible scene system, and a robust scripting environment, enabling developers to build, test, and deploy games efficiently across multiple platforms!
